Restoration & Remediation
Services
From fire and water emergencies to mold, asbestos, and storm damage — Myco-Tek Restoration provides comprehensive, state-licensed remediation services for homes and businesses throughout Southwest Florida. We're IICRC certified, fully insured, and available 24/7.
Water Damage
Restoration
IICRC WRT Certified · Available 24/7
Water damage is a race against time. Whether it's a burst pipe, roof leak, flooding, or appliance failure, standing water causes structural damage within hours and mold can begin growing in as little as 24–48 hours. The longer water sits, the more extensive — and expensive — the damage becomes.
Myco-Tek's Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT) respond rapidly to extract water, deploy industrial drying equipment, and conduct moisture mapping to find hidden water pockets behind walls and under floors. We dry your property thoroughly and document every step for your insurance claim.
- Emergency water extraction — 24/7 response
- Industrial dehumidification and structural drying
- Moisture mapping and thermal imaging
- Removal of wet drywall, insulation, and flooring
- Mold prevention treatment as part of the drying process
- Daily moisture monitoring with written reports
- Full insurance documentation package
Mold Assessment &
Remediation
FL License MRSA248 · FL License MRSR279 · IICRC AMRT
Florida's warm, humid climate makes it one of the highest-risk states in the country for mold growth. Mold can develop behind walls, under floors, and inside HVAC systems — often completely invisible until health symptoms appear or significant structural damage has occurred.
Myco-Tek is one of the few companies in Southwest Florida that holds separate state licenses for both mold assessment (MRSA248) and mold remediation (MRSR279). This means we handle the entire process — from initial inspection and air quality testing through full remediation — under one licensed firm. All work is performed by IICRC-certified Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians (AMRT).
- Visual inspection and moisture assessment
- Air quality sampling and surface testing
- Negative air pressure containment setup
- Physical removal of all mold-affected materials
- HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment
- Post-remediation clearance testing with written report
- Documentation accepted by insurance companies and real estate transactions
Air Duct &
HVAC Cleaning
NADCA Standards · Commercial-Grade Equipment
Your home's air ducts and HVAC system circulate the air you breathe every day. Over time, dust, mold spores, allergens, pest debris, and construction contaminants accumulate inside ductwork — and every time your system runs, these pollutants are distributed throughout your home.
In Florida's climate, mold growth inside an air handler or ductwork is a real and common problem — especially after water intrusion events or extended periods of high humidity. Myco-Tek uses professional-grade agitation equipment, HEPA-filtered vacuum systems, and antimicrobial treatments to clean your duct system thoroughly and safely.
- Pre-cleaning inspection and duct camera assessment
- Commercial HEPA vacuum extraction system
- Mechanical agitation of duct walls and registers
- Air handler coil cleaning and drain pan treatment
- Antimicrobial treatment to prevent mold regrowth
- Register and grille cleaning and reinstallation
- Post-cleaning verification and air quality check
Asbestos
Abatement
FL License CJC1154392 · State Certified
Asbestos was commonly used in building materials from the 1940s through the 1980s — including floor tiles, insulation, drywall compound, roofing, and pipe insulation. Homes and commercial buildings built before 1980 in Southwest Florida frequently contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
When disturbed — during renovation, demolition, or storm damage — asbestos fibers become airborne and pose serious health risks. Inhaled asbestos fibers can cause asbestosis, mesothelioma, and lung cancer. Florida law requires licensed contractors for all asbestos abatement work. Myco-Tek holds License CJC1154392 and follows all EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Asbestos inspection and bulk material sampling
- Certified laboratory analysis
- Full containment and negative air pressure setup
- Licensed removal of all asbestos-containing materials
- Proper disposal in accordance with Florida DEP regulations
- Air clearance testing post-abatement
- Complete documentation for permits, real estate, and insurance
Odor Control &
Elimination
IICRC Odor Control Certified
Persistent odors — from pets, cigarette smoke, fire damage, mold, or sewage — don't go away on their own. Over-the-counter products mask odors temporarily but don't address the source. Professional odor control requires identifying what's producing the odor and treating it at the molecular level.
Myco-Tek uses thermal fogging, ozone generation, and encapsulating sealers to permanently eliminate odors from all types of sources. Our IICRC-certified technicians identify the odor source, contain and treat it, and verify the results before declaring the job complete.
- Pet urine and dander odor removal
- Cigarette and cigar smoke deodorization
- Fire and smoke odor elimination
- Mold and musty odor treatment
- Sewage and biohazard odor remediation
- Thermal fogging and ozone treatment
Storm Damage
Recovery
Hurricane · Flood · Tornado · Available 24/7
Living in Southwest Florida means living with the reality of hurricane season. When a storm strikes — whether it's a Category 1 or a major hurricane like Ian — the aftermath can be overwhelming. Roof damage, flooding, debris, and structural compromise all need immediate professional attention.
Myco-Tek responds to storm damage events throughout Sarasota and Charlotte counties. We've helped hundreds of homeowners and businesses recover after hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe flooding events. Our goal is to stabilize your property immediately, document everything for your insurance claim, and restore your home or business as quickly as possible.

Septic Backup
Cleanup
Biohazard · Category 3 Water · Available 24/7
Septic system failures and sewage backups are biohazard events. Raw sewage contains bacteria, viruses, and parasites that pose serious health risks to anyone exposed. This is not a problem for standard cleaning services — it requires trained professionals with proper protective equipment, commercial disinfectants, and licensed disposal procedures.
Myco-Tek treats septic backup events as the emergencies they are. We respond quickly, contain the affected area, extract all sewage and contaminated water, remove damaged porous materials, and disinfect every surface with EPA-registered antimicrobial agents. All waste is disposed of in compliance with Florida health department regulations.
- Emergency containment and access restriction
- Sewage extraction and Category 3 water removal
- Removal of all porous contaminated materials
- Multi-stage disinfection with EPA-registered agents
- Odor treatment and air purification
- Post-cleanup testing to confirm safe conditions
- Full documentation for health department and insurance
Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration
IICRC FSRT Certified · Available 24/7A fire in your home or business is one of the most devastating events imaginable. Even after the flames are out, the damage continues — smoke penetrates walls, ceilings, and HVAC systems, while soot and toxic residue spread through every surface. Without professional remediation, smoke odor and chemical damage become permanent.
Myco-Tek's fire and smoke restoration technicians are IICRC certified in Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT). We use commercial-grade air scrubbers, thermal fogging, ozone treatment, and dry/wet cleaning methods to remove smoke, soot, and odor completely — not just temporarily mask them.
- Emergency board-up and structural stabilization
- Soot and smoke residue removal
- Thermal fogging and ozone treatment for odor elimination
- HVAC and duct system smoke cleaning
- Contents cleaning, pack-out and storage services
- Full documentation for insurance claims
- Reconstruction coordination available
Lead
Abatement
EPA RRP Certified · State Compliant
Lead-based paint was commonly used in homes built before 1978. While intact lead paint poses limited risk, deteriorating paint or renovation activities that disturb lead paint create dangerous dust that is particularly harmful to children and pregnant women. Elevated blood lead levels can cause permanent neurological damage.
Myco-Tek's lead abatement work follows EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule guidelines and Florida Department of Health requirements. We safely contain, remove or encapsulate lead-containing materials and verify the work with clearance testing before re-occupancy.
- Lead paint inspection and XRF testing
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- Full containment and negative pressure setup
- Safe removal or encapsulation of lead materials
- HEPA vacuuming and wet wiping of all surfaces
- Dust wipe clearance testing post-abatement
- Full documentation for real estate and regulatory compliance
